During festivals with water activities and large gatherings, there may be an increased risk of various illnesses, such as:
- Conjunctivitis / Red Eye
Unclean water may contain germs that enter the eyes, causing irritation, redness, discomfort, or inflammation.
Prevention: Avoid rubbing your eyes and stay away from dirty water. - Flu / Pneumonia
Being wet and exposed to alternating hot and cool temperatures may prevent the body from adjusting properly, weakening the immune system. This increases the risk of flu, cough, and sore throat, and in severe cases, it may develop into pneumonia.
Prevention: Rest and stop playing in water if you have a fever or feel weak. - Heatstroke
Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the body to overheat, leading to dizziness, confusion, or even unconsciousness, which can be very dangerous.
Prevention: Drink water frequently and avoid direct sunlight. - Ringworm / Tinea / Skin Rashes
Prolonged moisture from water activities creates an environment where fungal infections and skin rashes can develop easily.
Prevention: Shower and dry your body thoroughly, especially in skin folds. - Food Poisoning / Diarrhea
Hot weather causes food to spoil more quickly. Eating contaminated food may lead to diarrhea and vomiting.
Prevention: Eat freshly cooked, clean food and wash your hands regularly.
